OK OK OK OK I know I haven't posted anything since the end of my exams 2 months ago. Been insanely busy. Summary:

Exams -> Greece -> Wimbledon -> Lake District -> Graduation -> Canada -> UK -> Malaysia.

Have been home for a week now and the jetlag is finally wearing off. Home is great but I miss Manchester terribly...

END OF EXAMS!

Finally it has all come to an end. The sleepless nights, the constant nerves and having a zero social life. My last paper went really well too. But it was down to pure luck though cos the 2 topics I spotted came out. Anything else and I'd have been totally screwed.

Post exams: catch-up sleep -> badminton -> chinatown dinner (first solid meal I've had in days) -> casino till 6am. All done in 18hours. Now this is the life!

Going to Greece tomorrow for a week. Gonna take that time to relax (and get wasted. :P)

PS: Diva, what are PsychoX's reasons for wanting to meet up? Man he has to give this whole thing a rest and get a life already!

Exam fever

I f*cking hate exams! (High 5 Diva...)

There's nothing more I wish for more than to have a day of badminton, mahjong and hardcore drinking. When this is all over I am going to do exactly all those things like there's no tomorrow.

I'm dying for some Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey right now. But it's 3am so fat chance... So Hobnobs, green apples and more cramming it is to quell my hunger pangs. Oh Joy.

Delays and Obsessions

I watched Cruel Intentions for the first time yesterday on DVD and I cannot believe it took me 9 years from its release date to get round to finally watching it. It's one heck of a movie! I like how morally devoid and boundary-less the characters are. Judging from how desensitized we all are from increasing violence, and hypersexuality in the entertainment industry, this movie must've been really controversial when it came out. And looking back it paved the way for so many stars today: Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Selma Blair, Eric Mabius (from Ugly Betty) etc... And the opening and ending songs in the movie are 2 of my favourite songs of all time. 'Every You Every Me' by Placebo and 'Bittersweet Symphony' by The Verve.

My luck at Mahjong has been awesome this year. I play very often in the casino - at least once a week and of course like economic cycles, there are peaks and troughs but the peaks have been waaaaay outnumbering the troughs! I've been on a shi-san-yao (13 orphans - one of the hardest combinations to make EVER. Probablities are one in more than a billion according to this one MJ website.) roll this year. 3 times I've gotten since the start of the year! Twice they were under special circumstances. The first time, I was waiting for the yi-tong to win and chances were very slim since my friend had already 'pong'-ed three of them. But of all the luck, he decided to 'kong' the remaining one and I could 'chiang kong' (rob the 'kong') to win as you can see from the first pic. Since this was a super special combo, I was paid 10 quid by my very annoyed (but very impressed) friend. :)

The most recent time was only yesterday when I was unbelievably lucky. I kept getting the tiles I needed and I was lucky enough to 'zhi-mo' (self draw) the last tile I needed (yi shuo - one bamboo) to win! 10 pounds from everyone! And a round before this I 'zhi-mo'-ed a qing-yi-se tong zhi (self draw pure suit of circles). Since it was a normal special combo, it was just 6 pounds 40p from everyone. But I wasn't complaining! Quite a hefty booty at the end of the night. :D





And the night I got the special three lesser scholars combo above I won 90 quid! I was so lucky - kept on self-drawing maximum combos. Mahjong is very very chi-kek since we play for such high stakes. Throwing the wrong cards can have disastrous (and expensive!) consequences. It really trains my mind to be alert and mindful of what probabilities my opponents and I have of creating combinations based of the style of playing and aggressiveness. Too intent on winning and you run the risk of throwing the winning tile of an opponent calling a bigger combination than your own so sometimes, it's better to destroy your combo to play defensive and prevent your opponent from winning. It's like the Art of War!

OK enough Mahjong talk. Have to get back to the books! Got my Advanced Business Economics exam on Friday and I'm not even fully prepared yet. ARGH!

This blasted Business Analysis presentation of mine is really taking its toll. It's happening this Thursday and I've been having sleepless nights since last week. I really don't know why since I am prepared. Perhaps it's my subconscious telling me I'm missing something? I had no fewer than 4 nightmares last night, of which the last involved my dogs snuffing it. Pretty morbid stuff...

On a happier note, my post-exams and pre-graduation month is going to be quite eventful.

Going: Island-hopping in Greece ; to the Lake District; to Nobu and Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, London; and also to the Jack Johnson and John Mayer gigs here. But first I'll have to get these blasted exams outta the way!

gosh. this place has been empty for a while but as soon as Dato comes back it's all about the wave of new politics sweeping malaysia.

*heaves a long sigh* at least it's much better than my normal one that is currently only consisting of depressing news about me.

well hopefully dork makes and appearance soon. he's currently slutting his way all across melbourne. champion. i just suppose it's all in his character.
i sincerely hope that he doesn't try to whack me when he sees this.

i'm currently slaving away another day at work to buy another pair of shoes. big question playing up: should i just save up to buy that chanel bag instead?

BEST WEEKEND EVER

First and foremost, a humugous CONGRATULATIONS to the DAP for kicking MCA and Gerakan's ineffective corrupt arses in the recent General Elections back home! We won't be tortured with their empty promises of change nor will we be subjected to their humilating servitude to UMNO any longer. DAP is the way to go! PKR and PAS deserve a pat on the back as well, (especially PKR who had only a lone Parliamentary seat in Permatang Pauh in 2004 but now have a commanding 31) for their hand in denying BN their precious 2/3rds majority.

Spent the weekend in Birmingham at the All England Badminton Championships with my badminton gang. We were probably the noisiest group in the arena with our 'Come On!'s and 'Malaysia Boleh!'s. Unfortunately, our precocious young pair Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong fell at the first hurdle and we had to suffer watching Lee Chong Wei as well as veteran pair Choong Tan Fook and Lee Wan Wah lose in the semis. But overall it was a treat to watch all the action live and in the flesh. And as an additional bonus, we got to meet Koo Kien Keat and Lee Chong Wei and get their photos and autographs at their hotel thanks to my friend who used to train with KKK in their younger days in the Perak state team. Ah happiness. :)

Winter Blues

It's absolutely FREEZING! Snowed for 2 days straight and despite it being pretty cool seeing snowflakes floating around and everything covered in white, I'd like some warmth. (Plus this winter is murder on my skin. My face is like a frigging warzone.)

Chinese New Year's coming up. Wish I could be home. Actually know some people who are going home for just a week to spend CNY. Lucky bastards. I really miss my mum's homecooked feasts... And to The Diva, I would like some cookies! Pineapple tarts especially - but only if it's not too much trouble. :)

Nothing much else going on. The Manchester Games are coming up this Saturday and I'll be playing mixed doubles for badminton. Classes have also started for the 2nd semester - Global Justice is fantastic (why didn't I choose PPE or Politics and IR as a degree?!) while all my other business and economics modules are sleep inducing. I need a miracle to get a 2.1. SIGH.

How I waste my time

I made a list recently of all the American TV series I currently watch and there are 15! In no particular order they are:

1. Prison Break
2. Grey's Anatomy

9. Gossip Girl

These are the ones I watched on a religious weekly basis. They don't even include random stuff like Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond re-runs. All the time I could be putting to better use I spend in front of the computer watching all these shows. ARGH! (Gossip Girl is a guilty vice I have to admit cos it's my OC replacement! But hey I don't need to justify myself!)


During the American Writers' Strike I was in TV limbo cos I had absolutely nothing to watch! At times I was even reduced to watching crap tween shows like Hannah Montana (which is puke-inducingly bad by the way).


One more exam to go! Marketing and Political Morality went really well so I'm hoping to keep up this good run. Then it's off to London for the weekend! :)

today at work one of my weirdest personal secrets surfaced.

the not-so-secret-anymore fact that i think that the wiggles are pedophiles. i even think barney the dinosaur is a pedophile under that big purple inviting disguise of his. the bright colours and happy-fying songs are all to lure little kids into a state of trust. the Hi-5 team could possibly be pedophiles if they were say 10 years older.

old men jumping around singing kids songs is just plain wrong. they really should get a life.
you can blame me for being bitchy, but i'm blaming michael jackson for teaching me that you can never be too careful

it all started coz PharmySharon wanted to stick a wiggles plaster on my cut. o god the horror. not to mention 100% fashion roadkill alongside showing support for closet-pedophiles. even tho the plaster might be free i'd rather spend money buying a plain looking one. (i didn't have to tho, she had a plain one ready)

if i have kids they're never watching those shows. the most i can deal with is sesame street. even then i have to think twice. i heard the guys who lend their voices to the characters are stoned nearly 90% of the time while the show is being taped.

hi guys!!

by the time you read this you most likely figured that i've set up a blog for the 3 of us.
coz well i'm stuck in melbourne working to pay my rent, willy wonka is either backpacking his way thru some jungle or partying his ass off in kl and NgJJ is stuck in manchester sitting for his exams.

so me being bored here at work and missing the both of you decided to set up this blog for us to just keep in touch. so hopefully you guys take the time to blog and update this so i can keep in touch with you.
